Odessa College’s main campus, including the Learning Resources Center and the OC Bookstore, and extension centers in Andrews, Monahans, Seminole, and Pecos will be closed Saturday, Jan. 17 through Monday, Jan. 19 in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day holiday.

Odessa College is proud to announce that the Odessa College Testing Center has been officially recertified by the National College Testing Association (NCTA), maintaining its national recognition for excellence in testing practices.

West Texas Geology Foundation board member Emily Emerson presented OC geology instructor Joshua Hardt with the prestigious Most Outstanding Science Teacher Award  and a $5,000 award in recognition of his work and commitment to science education.

MOST Award Honors Odessa College Instructor’s Impact on Science Education

Representatives from Odessa College and the college’s geology department joined West Texas Geology Foundation (WTGF) board member Emily Emerald to honor Hardt with a $5,000 award and the prestigious Most Outstanding Science Teacher (MOST) award. WTGF also presented Odessa College with a plaque in recognition of its support of Hardt’s work and commitment to science education.

The Globe Film Festival is set to return to The Globe Theatre on January 30 and 31, 2026, and organizers are now seeking submissions of original short films. The festival invites filmmakers of all experience levels to showcase creative stories that reflect the spirit, people, places, and culture of West Texas. As a community-centered event hosted by the Odessa College Theater Department, the Globe Film Festival encourages authentic storytelling over technical polish.
