ODESSA, Texas — Odessa College announced today the hiring of Bryce Waters as the new Head Men’s and Women’s Golf Coach, bringing home a familiar face whose journey reflects the college’s commitment to developing talent from the classroom to the course.

Waters is a product of West Texas golf, graduating from Midland Christian High School before beginning his collegiate career at Odessa College, where he competed as a member of the OC men’s golf team. During his time as a Wrangler, Waters earned two-time All-American honors, distinguishing himself as one of the program’s top competitors.

He later transferred to the University of Wyoming, where he continued his competitive golf career while pursuing his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management. As a member of the Wyoming golf team, Waters earned two-time Academic All-American recognition, excelling both on the course and in the classroom.

In 2023, Waters reached a significant professional milestone by earning his PGA Tour Card, competing at the highest level of the sport through the PGA Tour. His experience as both a student-athlete and professional competitor uniquely positions him to mentor and develop OC’s men’s and women’s golf programs.

“Bryce’s story is the embodiment of what Odessa College is all about,” said Wayne Baker, Odessa College Athletic Director. “He started here as a student-athlete, pursued his goals with discipline and determination, and now returns to lead and inspire the next generation of Wranglers.”

As head coach, Waters will oversee all aspects of the men’s and women’s golf programs, including recruiting, player development, competition strategy, and academic success.

“I’m incredibly honored to return to Odessa College in this role,” Waters said. “OC played a huge part in my development as both a golfer and a person. I’m excited to give back to the program and help our student-athletes chase big goals—on and off the course.”

Waters begins his new role immediately, ushering in a new era for Wrangler Golf rooted in excellence, experience, and hometown pride.
