LEARN ABOUT CHANGES TO STUDENT EMAILS WITH OUR NEW WRANGLER PORTAL EXPERIENCE, STARTING MONDAY, MARCH 17, 2025.

Starting on March 17th, 2025, you’ll be able to access ALL of your Odessa College systems in one place protected by one password! Here’s what you’ll be able to access through your Wrangler Portal –

  • Blackboard
  • Odessa College Email
  • Office 365
  • Self-Service

…and more!

Your new Odessa College email will end in @odessa.edu instead of @myoc.odessa.edu.  For example, if your name is Jane Doe and your OC ID number is 1234567, your NEW email will be jd1234567@odessa.edu. Your OLD email would’ve been jd1234567@myoc.odessa.edu.

  • OLD OC Email: jd1234567@myoc.odessa.edu
  • NEW OC Email: jd1234567@odessa.edu

If you’ve never accessed your @odessa.edu email, your default password should be OCoc plus the last 4 digits of your social security number. For example, if your social security number is 123-45-6789, your default password would be OCoc6789.

If you don’t have a social security number, you will use OCoc plus the last four digits of your OC ID number. For example, if your OC ID number is 1234567, your default password would be OCoc4567.

Once you have successfully signed in, you will be required to change your password on first sign in.

Yes, you will still have access to your @myoc.odessa.edu email, but direct links will be removed from the OC website. However, it will eventually be disabled. You should forward any important emails to your NEW @odessa.edu email address and begin using it immediately.

Moving forward, you will use your NEW OC student email address to access your Wrangler Portal, connect with departments across campus, and contact your professor(s).

Multifactor authentication is a security measure that requires you to provide two or more verification factors to access an account or system (in this case, your Wrangler Portal). This is an added layer of protection that requires you to verify your logins using a smartphone or alternate email.

Beginning March 17th, 2025, all students and employees will be required to set up multifactor authentication on their Odessa College accounts. Failure to comply will result in the inability to access Wrangler Portal.

Specific instructions on setting up your multifactor authentication can be found here.

You will need to use your NEW Odessa College student email address – see details below:

  • OLD OC Email: jd1234567@myoc.odessa.edu
  • NEW OC Email: jd1234567@odessa.edu

No, but it will make the process easier for you. If you choose not to download the Microsoft Authenticator app to protect your account and remain in compliance with institutional standards, you will need to add a phone number or alternative email address that is not your Odessa College email address.

If you don’t have a device to download the Microsoft Authenticator app, you can use an alternate email to retrieve the information necessary to verify your identity every time you access your Wrangler Portal. Please be sure to use an existing email that you readily have access to. Remember – your alternate email should be a personal email address different than your OC email address.
