Sewell Auto Tech Center at Odessa College is the premier training center for both dual credit and traditional students; and the center is the home of the prestigious Ford ASSET program, GM ASEP program and Kubota Tech program.
Automotive & Diesel Technology at Sewell Auto Tech
Students who enter the Automotive and Diesel Technology programs will learn skills such as troubleshooting, critical thinking, machine and systems repair, and vehicle maintenance. Completion of either of these programs will allow students to apply for entry-level careers in technical and service specialist positions within the automotive and diesel technology fields. Students will be prepared to take the student ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification exam. Auto service technicians, mechanics, bus and truck mechanics, and diesel specialist positions are listed on the Texas Workforce Commission’s targeted occupations list for the Permian Basin Region.

CTE Dual Credit & Early College High Schools (OC Techs)
ECISD dual credit students enrolled in the district’s CTE academy programs and the Odessa Careers Early College High School (OC Techs) pursue an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in automotive or diesel degree pathways as high school students. These students will graduate from high school and college with the skills and training needed to successfully transition into the automotive industry.
